Tunxis Grill and pizzeria made its debut in March of 2009 with the vision of becoming a trademark spot for Windsor dining. Rich Schuler, the restaurant owner, developer, and ultimately, the foundation of Tunxis Grill, grew up in Windsor, CT, and after many years of being in the heart of someone else’s town, he decided to be in the heart of his own.

Tunxis Grill underwent a series of renovations and expansions in the last year to create the most talked about lounge and bar area wherein many corporate and/or personal parties are held.  The general atmosphere and ambiance that Tunxis Grill emanates is the kind that is becoming to all groups of people; those who are looking to relax after a hard day’s work,  those who are looking to relax while they work, or those who want to sit back, watch the game, and forget about work all together.

But Tunxis Grill was born for the main purpose of providing good food at a reasonable price. The menu is satisfying even for those with the most sensitive pallets.  Generous portions of fresh, gourmet food are prepared in the restaurant’s open kitchen, where guests can stand and watch the team of chefs hard at work.  Friends from all over town come into Tunxis knowing they will see a familiar face, and confident that they are going leave full and satisfied.

From the dining room, bar and lounge to the beautifully constructed patio, Tunxis Grill embodies all that Windsor stands for; the character of the building is seen in the exposed brick and the warm red and tan paint, to the best friend you graduated high school with and haven’t seen in years. Yet the homey feel of Tunxis is not solely comprised of those who live in Windsor. Many of the familiar faces that are seen in the restaurant come from all over Connecticut, Massachusetts, and given the close proximity to the Airport, the restaurant is a place of comfort to individuals all over the United States.
